Housekeeping Aide: 40 hours/pay period (Eve & Wkend)

POSITION/JOB SUMMARY:
- The housekeeping aide maintains the facilities in a clean, sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition by performing a variety of cleaning, disposal, and resupplying duties and to maintain clean linens, resident clothing and other fabrics by collecting dirty laundry and delivering clean laundry to the proper place and in the proper manner.
- This position is typically scheduled from 2:00pm-10:30pm, every other weekend, and rotating holidays.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Cleaning all areas of the facility and maintaining a high standard of appearance, sanitation, and safety throughout all areas of the facility.
- Sanitation responsibilities include activities like mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, disinfecting, polishing, etc. as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
- Cleaning, disinfection, and preparation of resident/patient rooms and furniture.
- Maintaining the sanitation, cleanliness, and appearance of public areas such as hallways, restrooms, waiting rooms, meeting rooms and staff areas.
- Using cleaning chemicals according to the manufacturers’ directions for use, labeling, storage, and cleanup.
- Restocking supplies including but not limited to hand soap in dispensers, towels in dispensers, toilet paper, etc.
- Practicing good work safety procedures by wearing personal protective equipment/PPE, such as gloves, masks, splash shields, and/or gowns as directed and pertinent to OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.

- Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
- Confidentiality of all data, including patient, resident, employee, and operations data.
- Quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from any sort of harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
- Supports and participates in common teamwork:
- Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction including appropriate judgment.
- Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
- Follow up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers, patients, or residents regarding reported complaints, problems, and/or concerns.
- Promotes positive public relations with patients, residents, family members and guests.
- Completes requirements for in-service and annual training, acceptable attendance, uniform dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Work in an environment that may expose an individual to communicable disease.
- Prolonged periods walking, standing, reaching, and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
